John 14:15 - if you love me, keep my commandments.
Do not be deceived – search the Scriptures and do not follow the teachings of human mortals.
We cannot pick and choose which commandments we keep or which sections of the Bible we are to accept as God’s Word.
Thus saith the Lord:
What is sin?
1 John 3:4 - Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.
Romans 6:23 - For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Isaiah 8:20 - To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.
Matthew 5:18 - For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
1 John 2:4 - He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
Matthew 5:17 - Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Exodus 20: The Ten Commandments & Deuteronomy 5:1-21
Exodus 20 - And God spake all these words, saying, I am the Lord thy God, which have brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.
1 Thou shalt have no other gods before me. (We are not to pray to or worship anyone or anything else)
2 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me; And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me, and keep my commandments.
3 Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain; for the Lord will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain. (God’s Name is to be used with reverence and in prayer only)
4 Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it. (Friday sunset to Saturday sunset we are to commune with God and keep the whole day holy)
5 Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee.
6 Thou shalt not kill.
7 Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8 Thou shalt not steal.
9 Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbour.
10 Thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's house; thou shalt not covet thy neighbour's wife, nor his manservant, nor his maidservant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbour's.
James 2:10 - For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it.As the above states, we are to fulfil the law just as Jesus did. To those who say, “impossible” they are actually stating that God is weaker than Satan. We must claim the promise of:
Philippians 4:13 - I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.
